Every Moshin wine starts in the Russian River Valley, where cool Pacific fog, warm afternoon sunshine, and generations of thoughtful farming have made this one of the world’s most celebrated places to grow Pinot Noir. Rather than trying to change what nature provides, we focus on preserving it. Every decision we make—from pruning and canopy management to harvest timing—is guided by one simple philosophy: it all starts in the vineyard.
Our estate is made up of four distinct vineyards along Westside Road, each with its own personality and growing conditions. Together, they give us the opportunity to craft wines that capture the remarkable diversity of the Russian River Valley.

Our Vineyards
Moshin Estate Vineyard
Where it all began.
Our original 10-acre vineyard sits on the valley floor beside the Russian River and has been at the heart of Moshin Vineyards since 1989. Originally planted in the early 1980s and thoughtfully replanted over the years, it is home to Martini, Swan, Mt. Eden, and Wädenswil 2A Pinot Noir clones.
The deep alluvial soils, enriched by generations of seasonal flooding, produce wines with generous fruit, balance, and the unmistakable character of the Russian River Valley.
Calliope Vineyard
Small vineyard. Remarkable character.
Planted in 2005, our 2½-acre Calliope Vineyard enjoys southern exposure and classic Goldridge soils. Home to Pommard, Wädenswil 2A, and Calera Pinot Noir clones, this vineyard consistently produces beautifully structured wines with elegance, depth, and vibrant aromatics.
Rosalina Vineyard
Steep slopes. Exceptional complexity.
Rosalina Vineyard stretches across five hillside acres with full southern exposure, where Goldridge soils and cooling afternoon breezes create ideal conditions for Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc alike.
Here you’ll find several of our favorite Pinot Noir clones, along with a small planting of Alsace Pinot Blanc, producing wines that are layered, expressive, and distinctly reflective of their hillside home.
River Myst Haven Vineyard
A hidden gem overlooking the winery.
Planted by Rick in 2010 on neighboring hillside acreage, River Myst Haven combines gently sloping Goldridge soils with a south-southeast exposure that allows Pinot Noir to ripen beautifully while maintaining freshness and elegance.
This small vineyard continues our commitment to thoughtful farming and careful stewardship of the land.
Why Russian River Valley?
Not every place can grow great Pinot Noir.
The Russian River Valley’s cool morning fog, sunny afternoons, and dramatic day-to-night temperature swings allow grapes to ripen slowly while preserving their natural acidity and delicate aromas. Combined with the region’s famed Goldridge soils, these conditions create wines with vibrant fruit, refined structure, and remarkable balance.
It’s why winemakers around the world admire this region. It’s also why we’ve called it home for more than 35 years.
Our Philosophy
Every bottle we produce reflects the place it came from, the season that shaped it, and the care that went into growing it. Our role isn’t to overpower those qualities—it’s to preserve them, so every glass tells the story of the vineyard where it began.
