2014 Pinot Noir, Molinari Vineyard, Sonoma County
Bright with aromas and flavors of red fruit, briar patch, tea spices and graphite. Well structured with dense flavor, tight tannins. Only 398 cases produced.
Dark ruby color with bright edges, the last of this vineyard designate from us has the signature Molinari aromas of earth, spice, dark cherry, and briar patch. Tea-spice notes and savory herbs combine with the classic graphite soil from this site – the soil shines through in both the Merlot and Pinot Noir. A dense, rich palate entry delivers a lovely silky structure and chewy, firm tannins. The tannins are subdued compared to an array of prior vintages making this very approachable now highlighting dark cherry and bright, spiced berry tones, and hints of cranberry. Full flavored and dense yet with a lovely palate feel; always our biggest Pinot Noir. Only 398 cases produced.
