Moshin Vineyards Wine Club

The Moshin Wine Club is a pre-release tasting program. You’ll receive 3 bottles of yet-to-be-released small production wine 3 times a year. Once you try the wines, you have 3 weeks to reorder your favorites for an extra 5% off an already fabulous 20% Wine Club Discount. There are three types of memberships: All New Releases, Red Wine Only, Pinot Noir Only. After the Wine Club gets the chance to taste and reorder, only then are the new wine club releases brought into the Tasting Room and offered to the general public.

Wine Club Members are encouraged to pick up their wine at the winery. We have great ‘Pick-Up’ Parties on the Saturday of Wine Club release weekends! If you like, you can have your order shipped. Please ask the Tasting Room attendant for more information, , or contact our hospitality manager, Julia Lander at 707-433-5499, ext. 104 or via email: julia@moshinvineyards.com. Average cost to the member is $80.00 to $120.00 per shipment. There are no membership fees. You may cancel your membership any time by written request after receipt of first offering.

2007 Foppoli Chardonnay, Russian River Valley

Toasted sesame seed, pineapple and heady tropical fruits greet you. Round flavors of apple, pear and buttered bread fill your mouth. Well integrated oak brighten this viscous yet balanced Chard. 2007 Pinot Noir, Ridgeway Vineyard, Russian River Valley

Bright red fruit up front: strawberry, cherry and rhubarb. Earth and cola join with black cherry and just a trace of anise. Decant and drink now or cellar until 2017. Tiny Wine Club production of only 96 cases. Retail $44.00, Wine Club $35.20, reorder by May 30th $33.00

2007 Halo’s Hill Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

Cinnamon spice, dried cherry and the sweet earthiness of roasted pumpkin. Ginger brightness, tea leaf and exotic red fruit. Great acidity with a persistent finish. 2005 Emoshin lovers, this is for you! Drinking well now and through 2016. Only 200 cases produced. 2007 Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley

It really smells RED! Deep, rich raspberry, strawberry and cherry on the nose. Candied apple, Chinese five spice and Satsuma plumb in the mouth. Tannins, yes, this is dry, you’re mouth will water for more. (Ka-boom!) Drink now and through 2012. 475 cases produced. Retail $30.00, Wine Club $24.00, reorder by May 30th $22.50.

2007 O’Neel Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

Soft dusty floral notes and the warm smell of freshly turned earth. Classic RRV Pinot mouth feel complete with bright tart cranberry and red cherry flavors. Great balance of acidity and lingering fruit tannin finish. Drink now from a big Burgundy glass or cellar until 2015. Wine Club exclusive, only 200 cases produced.

 2007 Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

Toasty caramel, cola, and lush fruit fragrance. Big fruity mouthfeel with a touch of spice followed by a clean satisfying finish; a truly comfortable pinot. Drinking well now and through 2012. 875cases produced.

 2007 Chardonnay, Russian River Valley

Toasty brioche, white clove and fragrant Asian pear. Lovely flavors of quenching melon, imagine fresh apple crisp oh so slightly spiced, and firm acidity to cleanse the pallet. Drink now or by 2011. 400 cases produced.

2006 Family Reserve Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

Bright floral and Bing cherries get your taste buds ready for light vanilla, warm earth, cinnamon spice and dark cherry flavors. The generous finish reminds us of cola and flowers. Let this wine breath for a few hours to open up the more delicate scents. Drink in the near future or by 2014. Only 200 cases produced.

2006 Perpetual Moshin, Dry Creek Valley

The Perpetual is a beautiful, fruit forward co-fermented, Bordeaux red blend. The nose is luscious, with dark berry, plum and spice first off. Wow! A dark chocolate mocha note comes out along with vanilla and dried cherry. The flavors all follow suite with fine coffee–like tannins and a huge fruit explosion. Wow again! The after glow is amazing. Drinking so well now and will cellar well for years to come. A Wine Club exclusive production of only 98 cases.

2006 Carreras Vineyard Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley

Black currant, jammy red fruit, allspice and licorice on the nose. Sassparilla anyone? The big berry/plum mouth feel and fulfilling tannins are so well balanced by the fruity beginnings and silky finish. Drink now or by 2011. Only 150 cases produced. Retail $35, Wine Club $28, reorder by November 29th $26.25.

2007 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
True to form with floral, extracted cherry and smoke on the nose. A “sweet” aroma comes across- somewhere between Fuji apples and maple syrup. The flavors are all pinot; red fruit, earth and spice. Great structure that breaths and evolves in your glass, bringing about a delicate dusty finish. 600 cases produced. (Fabulous Thanksgiving wine!) Retail $40, Wine Club $32, reorder by November 29th $30.

2006 Pinot Noir Lost Ranch, Sonoma Coast
Immensely fragrant, beautiful fruity-floral nose, wow! Heady orange blossom aroma, black cherry and toasty earth. This
pinot delivers all that the nose promises. Plush dark fruit, sweet lychee, well integrated tannins followed by persistent
spice. Faint lingering violets on the finish.
Drink now through 2011. Exclusively small production of 150 cases.

2006 Pinot Noir Lot 4, Russian River Valley
Shy at first but opens into tart cherry, smoked tea and forest floor with a classic mushroom nose and candied overtones.
Hints of black fruit followed by juicy dark fruit flavors and firm tannins. Vibrant, lively acidity balances the tannin and
will support long term cellaring of this promising Pinot. Decant with patience to enjoy now.
Cellar through 2018. 425 cases produced.

2006 Zinfandel Bowman Vineyard, Shenandoah Valley
White pepper and spice. Breathe in the sunny, golden, dusty hills. Sweet vanilla and blueberry flavors with the perfect
balance of cigar box and fruit power. Deliciously complex and well integrated.
Drink now though 2012. Only 350 cases produced.

Wine Club Release date: May 2008

2006 Pinot Noir, Ridgeway Vineyard, Russian River Valley
Light pomegranate, warm brown spice, cherry cola and sandy earth spring to mind. Search for the nose and you
may find hot stone minerality, rhubarb, cumin, or violets. Light across the pallet, pleasing weight of mouth feel.
Thoughtful. Great for delicate food pairings. Drinking well now and through 2014.
Tiny production of only 100 cases.

2006 Pinot Noir, Emoshin, Russian River Valley
Rich cherry, autumn spice, earthy cinnamon, toasty brown sugar, wow! The nose makes your mouth water; the
delicate mouthfeel makes you want more. Great acid balance for food pairing, light tannins for quaffing.
Drinking well now and through 2013. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 150 cases produced.

2006 Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley
Jammy fruit, blackberry spice, caramelized fruit pie filling. Notes of leather, licorice and a bit of woodiness.
Great tannin structure, plush mouthfeel, long pleasing finish. Take some extra time with this one in your glass
to get to all the fruit character. Drinking well now though 2012. 475 cases produced.

2007 Sauvignon Blanc, Larrick Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley
Delightfully fragrant: melons, grapefruit, key lime, and soft smooth vanilla with a hint of spice on the nose.
Bright acidity and creamy full body make this a serious savoring Sauv Blanc. Drink now and for the next few
summers to come. 275 cases produced.

Wine Club Release date: November 2007

2006 Chardonnay Foppoli Vineyard, Russian River Valley
Floral and citrus nose with light cinnamon spice. Creamy mouth feel with a big mid-palate, vanilla, candied pineapple and great acidity. Chardonnay lovers, and others, will very much enjoy this one.

Wild yeast fermentation, 50% ML. Drink now through 2010. Only 100 cases produced.

2006 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Spiced red fruit and a romantic sea breeze waft from the glass. This Pinot is lively, spicy, fruity, floral and soft. A slight smoky note and a bit of truffle oil complete the composition. Light tannins make the texture perfect for any occasion; be it lounging on the beach or a dinner party with friends. (Thanksgiving dinner anyone?)

Drink now though 2012. 350 delightful cases produced.

2005 Perpetual Moshin (Cab Sauv 76%, Merlot 19%, Petite Verdot 4%, Cab Franc 1%)
Toasty oak and ripe red cherries up front, slight peppery and dusty nose. The mouth feel is huge and well supported by tannin and berries throughout. A delicate herbal quality mingles with minerals just before the big finish. Decant this if drinking soon or age happily until 2015. Exclusively small production of 98 cases.

2006 Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
Very spice forward with heavy dark fruit flavors. Black current, cranberry, spicy white clove essences with a very pleasing smooth feel across the whole palate. Great finish. Food friendly and very versatile. Drink now after a few hours of ‘breathing’ or well into 2015. 750 cases produced.

Moshin Potion #6
Fresh nectarine and intoxicating honeysuckle are irresistible. Crisp apple acidity holds the lush viscous sweetness through and through. Golden sweet and the perfect finish to any dinner party or for drizzling on a lovely fruit salad any time.  Bottled in 375 ml format at 22% RS. 148 cases produced.

2005 Family Reserve Pinot Noir, Estate, Russian River Valley
Deep black cheery, fragrant gardenia with a hint of spice and light oak on the nose. Cola, warm vanilla, sour cherry and bright cranberry on the pallet. Long smooth finish with a youthful tang of acidity. Pairs beautifully with smoked salmon, brazed lamb lion or grilled portabella mushrooms. Drink now though 2015. Only 192 cases produced.

2005 Syrah, Dorcich Vineyard, Santa Clara County
Aroma of concentrated jammy fruit, spice and viscous molasses. Bacon, wood smoke and a touch of tobacco on the finish makes this wine perfect for an evening BBQ with friends or a romantic filet mignon for two. Pairs fashionably well with blueberry and black pepper compote, with or without the vanilla ice cream.

Drink now through 2013. Only 292 cases produced.

2006 Sauvignon Blanc, Larrick Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley
Crisp, fresh and just in time for Summer. Tropical fruit and gooseberry with a bit of grassy-ness. Bright, green apple tartness perfect for cleansing the pallet and pairing with spring greens, spicy snacks or a sunny front porch. Drink well chilled though the warmer months and on through 2010. 460 cases produced.

2005 Merlot, Molinari Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley
All hail Merlot! Berries and earth on the nose with a slight hint of menthol. Big mouth full of bright raspberries and ripe plums make a perfect match for all kinds of medium to heavy foods. Imagine grilled shish-ka-bab or honey Dijon mustard and smoked sausage, yum.  Drinking well now through 2010.   685 cases produced.
